Finish Ticket Rivers Full Song
Very chill but still upbeat sounds from Cali band Finish Ticket. Somewhat reminiscent of The Shins but definitely prove they have a unique sound.
CHVRCHES - The Mother We Share
of Verona Castles Music Video
Electro-rock band of Verona brings energy, intrigue and a nice beat that's perfect for dancing for getting pumped up.
Songs I Used To Sing - LIVE! @ GBS Detroit
American Opera folk rock singer/songerwriter may give the likes of Joe Cocker a run for his money. His songs are gritty and moody with just the right amount of edge.
Austin Basham Lost at Sea
Singer-songwriter Austin Basham brings chill indie-folk vibes to the table with his song "Lost at Sea".His sound is decidedly original but there are times where his song style is reminiscent of Paul Simon and even some Bob Dylan influences. Check it out. I'm also a big fan of the gentle lapping sound of the water juxtaposed with his calm songs with melancholy lyrics.
Kate Miller Heidke Ride This Feeling
Australian classically trained singer Kate Miller-Heidke presents a pop-alternative fusion song that is full of energy and almost mystical sounding. "Ride This Feeling" is free-spirited and somewhat indie, akin to the likes of Frou Frou and Florence + The Machine
Wallet - Joy Valencia
Singer-songwriter Joy Valencia sounds coy and sultry while and at the same time fun and cheeky. Imagine combining Sara Bareilles, Colbie Caillet and Peggy Lee for a retro-sound that is perfectly at home with contemporary music.
Ed Prosek - If I'm Not Good Enough for You
Singer/songwriter Ed Prosek has a voice that channels Chris Martin, only much more pleasant and without Martin's whiny gloom. His original song is upbeat and sounds very indie-pop.A fun listen.
Alexander Ebert - "Truth"
Alexander Ebert has been the lead singer of two different, distinct bands, including Ima Robot. His solo album is also unique. It is as though in his song "Truth" he has fused folk and reggae...and it sounds pretty rad.
Ode to Moonlight
Very melancholy but incredibly chill folk song by the indie-folk band The Sloopers. Vaguely reminiscent of John Paul White's voice from The Civil Wars. Good stuff. Give it a listen.
Unaware - Allen Stone - Live From His Mother's Living Room
Apparently the grunge look will never go out of style. Allen Stone, who hails from Seattle and looks like he should be jamming with a Nirvana cover band, would actually fit it a lot better with the likes of Steve Wonder or Smokey Robinson. His look is completely deceiving. He rocks the soul with "Unaware - Live from His Mother's Living Room". He sounds like an edgier Jason Mraz with some serious Stevie falsetto capabilities. And for a song that has lyrics that seem somewhat downtrodden, it's surprisingly chill and relaxing.
